sitecore8 - Sitecore, user doesn't have "Insert External Link, Insert Media Link, etc." when updating a General Link field -


in sitecore 8.0, have user doesn't have "insert external link, insert media link, etc." when updating general link field. sees text field enter link.

i looked in core database access viewer , user account has read access items under "system > field types > link types > general link < menu"

any idea why so? can see options fine under admin-level account.

recently faced similar issue, when "non-admin" user can't see buttons on link field, turned out the item template using deprecated "link" field type instead of "general link", cause of issue.
