riscv - GPL'd RISC-V implementation? -
am allowed release risc-v implementation (written in vhdl or verilog) under gpl-v3? if so, additional "credit", etc. have give?
the faq on risc-v site says isa spec licensed bsd license, bsd license specific in talking licensing source code , binaries, don't understand how applying it.
can explain how licensing works , point me link on website has license?
you can whatever want implementation, including keeping closed source , selling it.
if you're going open-source route , don't want use bsd, recommend cern open hardware license, , listen licensing talk 2015 orconf conference took place @ cern. gpl not written hardware , may not protect or work.

that's great question lawyer. if risc-v foundation using wrong license, intention clear - can implement isa , whatever want implementations , foundation not come after you.
