amazon ec2 - MemSQL - unable to connect remotely to EC2 cluster using MySQL client -


i have used http://cloud.memsql.com deploy memsql cluster ec2 documented here: http://docs.memsql.com/4.0/setup/setup_cloud/.

i can ssh master aggregator, , login memsql prompt locally. however, cannot connect remotely using mysql client application.

i have double-checked port 3306 open , testing have applied privileges root:

grant privileges on *.* root@'%' identified 'password'; flush privileges;

the documentation states:

once cluster , running, connect master aggregator using valid mysql client driver.

can advise on step have missed?

update 1 - source range open memsql port:

3306    tcp 0.0.0.0/0

update 2 - ufw has been disabled testing.

currently, clusters spun cloud.memsql.com lock down security group vpc memsql ports (like 3306). if want access outside of vpc, need add new rule group. open group completely:

add ingress rule port 3306-3306 cidr: 0.0.0.0/0

note open cluster world, , able connect. instead of 0.0.0.0/0, recommend using public ip , /32 so: your_ip/32
