How do you use SSIS packages? -


i have been learning ssis recently, , can see usefull sometimes.

but don't know how use package once want, without starting ssis , run there. suppose compile exe or what?

there 2 main ways run through s job on sql server. depends on version of visual studio running. first way try file menu , save package as... choose saving dtsx package off folder. go ssms , create new job pointing dtsx file choosing sql server integration services package , file system source. second way involve setting integration services database catalog on sql server first. right click on catalog folder if see , select new integration services catalog. in visual studio select project menu @ top of screen , deploy. enter database server name , folder deploy to. in ssms create job pointing integration services catalog instead of file system.
