Eliminating double, triple, quadruple, etc. spaces in MS Word -

i receive lot of text files this

   120 1 230 1.3 3 13240 7

in addition, there regular text there (single space between words). come way automatically "search , replace" two, three, four, five, etc. spaces (all single spaces) above numbers no longer have spaces in front of them. thoughts? maybe macro help?

you don't need macro, actually, can done find , replace tool.

  1. open find , replace dialog box (control+h default).
  2. if search options section not displayed, press "more > >" button display it.
  3. in search options section, check "use wildcards" checkbox.
  4. in "find what:" field, enter single space followed {2,} .
  5. in "replace with:" field, either leave blank remove leading spaces entirely or put single space replace repeated spaces single one.
  6. press replace button.

note if choose remove leading spaces entirely, may backfire if have lines beginning single space; these still have space there, while ones used have multiple spaces @ beginning have them removed.
